Part-Time Worship Leader
Overview
Provide spiritual and musical leadership for Sunday celebrations, partnering closely with the pastor to create authentic worship.
Primary focus is on people and music—not media production.
Time Commitment
10–15 hours/week (flexible based on celebration times).
Includes Sunday call time, celebration leadership, rehearsal, and planning.
Core Responsibilities
Lead congregational worship with prepared sets and prayerful presence.
Plan music with the pastor to match themes and scripture.
Recruit, schedule, train, and encourage volunteer musicians and singers.
Organize and run rehearsals; ensure songs are learned and transitions are smooth.
Manage the song catalog and introduce new songs appropriately.
Communicate weekly with the team (keys, charts, recordings, flow).
Coordinate with the production/tech team for simple needs (mics, monitors, click tracks).
What’s Not Included
No responsibility for livestreaming, camera operation, video editing, lighting design, social media, or graphic creation.
No expectation to program ProPresenter or run the sound board—those functions belong to a dedicated media/production team.
Light Tech Use
Use a planning app (e.g., Planning Center) to build sets, schedule volunteers, and share resources.
Provide tempos, keys, and arrangements for the tech team.
Relay basic stage requirements but do not manage equipment.
Qualifications
Demonstrated Christian faith and exemplary character.
Skilled vocalist who can also lead with guitar, keyboard, or a primary instrument.
Experience building and caring for volunteer teams.
Organized and punctual; communicates clearly and shows up prepared.
Teachable and collaborative, aligned with the church’s vision.
Success Indicators
Sunday celebrations have consistent, heartfelt worship.
Volunteer team is engaged, scheduled, and supported.
Rehearsals are efficient and volunteers feel confident.
Clear planning rhythm is established with the Pastor and tech lead.
Reporting
Reports to: Lead or Executive Pastor.
Collaborates with: Production/Tech Lead for coordination and support.
